but I'm a Cheerleader, the Musical
This campy "ex-gay" musical is based on the Lions Gate 1999 film about a young girl who is sent to a "straight camp" because her parents and friends think she's a lesbian. A product of the BMI Musical Theatre Writing Workshop, with music composed by Andrew Abrams, but I'm a Cheerleader, the Musical won the audience award for "Best Musical" at the NYMF Musical Theater Festival in 2005. The show was chosen for the ASCAP workshop and was a finalist for the Jerry Bock Award. BIAC also received rave reviews from the New York Times, Theatermania, Showbusiness Weekly, and many others. It is currently in negotiations for a large-scale production in NYC.
